Not exactly "the best", but the tagline "We're okay!" doesn't have the same ring.

They have a little instruction booklet for how to enjoy their burgers. Diagrams were included! What's a dolphin fish? Is it a dolphin?

Avocado and basil burger. I mustn't have read the instruction book properly because half of my avocado ended up on the floor.

Avocado and cheddar burger.

After many recommendations for Kua ‘Aina, I decided to check this place out to see if it could top The Great Burger. To put it simply: it didn’t. Don’t get me wrong, Kua ‘Aina make a decent burger but it just wasn’t spectacular.

I took advantage of their anniversary burger special which only cost me ¥950 for a set – which was a price I liked. Trouble was, there wasn’t enough flavour (I had to add mustard and tomato sauce) and their burger buns didn’t have that “made on the premises” feeling that The Great Burger has. However, the avocado was perfect (the part that didn’t land on the floor) and the ingredients were fresh. If I wasn’t so hung up on The Great Burger, I would have probably been more excited about this place.

The search for Tokyo’s best burger continues…
