Dessert time! Home made apply pie and creme caramel.
It’s one of those conundrums. Do you want to tell everyone about this place so that the place stays open, but do you want this place to become so popular that you never get a seat? Well fortunately, I don’t think I have that much sway so I’m telling you about Nom.
Nom is a tiny hole in the wall Japanese izakaya just off Oxford Street. It’s run by 2 cute little Japanese ladies who are so smiley and sweet you just want to give them a hug when you leave.
It’s almost like you’re in Japan when you come here. The menu is in both Japanese and English and people are speaking Japanese around you. There is a good sake list (although unless you know your sakes it’s hard to know what you’re ordering because they are just listed by name) and when you order a glass, the waitress comes out with a tray of sake cups for you to select your drinking glass. Cute! Strangely the only beer here is German, which is a little disappointing but what can you do?
The items on the menu range from $2 to $7.50 which means you can try a bunch of things without it costing you too much. The Japanese omelette is a winner as is the yaki onigiri and the home style Japanese curry.
Definitely pay this little place a visit. The location is convenient, food is good and well priced and the sake is plentiful.
Gochisousama!
