Via Napoli Pizzeria gives me a reason to go up to Lane Cove. Their pizzas are easily some of the best I’ve had… EVER. Since 2011, owner Luigi Esposito has created his own little Napoli that serves up authentic Neapolitan pizzas and dishes to the lucky residents of Lane Cove.
They pride themselves on sourcing high quality ingredients including San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and fior di latte mozzarella, Caputo flour and olive oil. All of which makes for a beautifully soft, chewy and flavourful pizza which makes me wish I was there eating pizza right now instead of writing this.
We ordered 3 pizzas as part of the Pizza Festival which included a glass of wine or Italian beer – Capricciosa (tomato, fior di latte, ham, mushrooms, basil & olives), Crudo e rucola (fior di latte, prosciutto parma, rocket, parmesan & basil on a white base) and the Vesuvio (tomato, buffalo mozzarella, ricotta, ham, salami, pepper & basil). I think we could have ordered any pizza from this menu and it would have been amazing – the Luigi’s Fantasy sounded confusing and a little seductive, and I would probably order that next time just to see. There is no ingredient list for that one, so I’m guessing it’s what Luigi feels like making that night.
Also, the pizzas come in 13 inch, 0.5m and 1m in size. 1 metre?! CRAZY.
I wish Via Napoli Pizzeria was closer to me. I would be there pretty much weekly. I’d probably be at the gym a lot more frequently too.
