Sitting on the end of Abbot Kinney is the sunny looking restaurant called Lemonade. I was thinking that it potentially looked too cute to be any good, but taking a peek inside this place looked fresh and healthy so I gave it a go.
When you go inside, it’s set up like a cafeteria with different food sections where you can choose things like soup, salad, meats, sandwiches and delicious looking cakes. Taking a tray, you make your way around the restaurant choosing what you want – watch out, everything looks good so you run the risk of ordering way too much! Thankfully there are take away containers provided so you can take the leftover tastiness home with you.
I decided to keep it simple – 2 portions of “marketplace” options (kale salad and Israeli couscous) and a salmon steak. Which sounds so LA, right? My friend thinks I’ll start drinking kale smoothies and doing soul cycle soon. Which may or may not end up happening. Only time will tell.
Anyway, it cost me less than US $13 which wasn’t too bad. Plus it was healthy, delicious and felt like it was somewhat making up for all the burgers, fish tacos and fries I had already consumed.
Of course, being called Lemonade there was selection of refreshing looking lemonades – cucumber and mint, pineapple and ginger etc. which you could order at the end.
I would definitely go here again. Maybe after my next soul cycle class.*
